Most bad AI answers come from one problem. Really bad prompts.
People ask a vague question and expect a precise answer.
The AI fills in the missing details with averages from its training data.
The result is the usual generic AI advice.
Example of a really bad prompt:
"How can I get more leads?"
The AI receives your request, rolls its eyes, then is forced to guess your industry, your budget, your audience, and your goals.
A much better approach is a simple prompt duo.
Add micro-context and allow clarifying questions.
Steps:
- Include Micro-context
- Ask question
- Request clarifying question
Example:
Context: I run a small manufacturing company and want to use AI to generate more inbound leads without increasing my marketing budget.
Ask question: What are the three most practical ways I could use AI to generate leads for this type of business?
Request clarifying questions: If additional context would significantly improve the answer, ask up to three clarifying questions.
Why does this work?
- The context tells the AI where you’re starting.
- The question defines the task.
- The clarifying questions prevent bad assumptions.
Less AI guessing. Better AI answers.
